On the day before her leave I took her to Rüdesheim at the river Rhine. We had beautiful weather and some awesome views!!!
We first walked around a little in the old city part of Rüdesheim. |
Then we took the gondola up to a memorial. What you see on this picture are the wine hills. The Rhine valley is really famous for their wine. You find wine hills all along the river rhine. |
The two person gondolas. |
The view on our way up to the memorial. |
The "Niederwalddenkmal" is a memorial which was build to remember the victory over France in 1870/71. After that victory the German empire got new created and united. |
It is about 34.4 feet high and weights about 70547.9 lb. |
Karin and me in the chairlift to Asmannshausen. |
And again an amazing view. |
And the famous wine hills. |
Again some cute old houses. |
Karin in front of the river rhine. |
Well when you are waiting for about an hour for the ship you have some crazy ideas. |
That is the castle which we were going to see. It's called castle "Rheinstein" (Rhine stone). |
It was build by the archbishopric of Mainz in the 13th century and was a toll castle. |
The river Rhine. |
The castle is so |
The background was just perfect to take such a beautiful picture! |
It was so nice of that man to take a picture of us two. |
And again just an amazing view. |
And here are some impressions of the castle. The tower. |
A little platform with a cute little fountain. |
Brave Karin climbing up the stairs to the tower!!! |
Beautiful side of the castle. |
View from from the tower. |
Me with a wonderful background! |
Just imagine, you wake up as a princess, walk down the stairs, through the hallway and go through this door on the balcony! |
Just making some nice pictures all around! |
The little chapel of the castle. |
The view of castle from the restaurant. |
Ya isn't that just cute. Found that on top of a stone at the restaurant. |
Sadly it didn't turn into a nice and handsome prince. |
The way to hike up and down to the castle. |
Another of the many castles along the Rhine. |
This is the "Mäuseturm" (Mousetower). It was build as a toll tower in the first half of 14th century. |
Look at this old nice car. Found it in a court infront of a house. |
